Happy Chinese New Year From Sydney! 2014 is the year of the horse, and celebrations in Sydney’s Chinatown are already in full swing.
Sydney’s Chinese New Year festival is the largest outside of Asia. You can find out more about what’s on at the festival here.
Smiling Bear likes to get involved in the Sydney’s Chinese New Year celebrations, and what better way this year than to ride into town on his fancy red horse. Come and say hello if you spot him... Giddy up!
Hope you enjoy his Chinese New Year 2014 animated gif.

Happy Australia Day 2014 Everybody! Australia Day is celebrated on Sunday 26th January 2014 this year so Monday’s a public holiday too...yippee!!
Australia day is the day all Australians come together to celebrate what’s great about Australia, and being an Australian. There are many Australia Day traditions and opinions about what those great things might be (soooo many to choose from!)
This year Smiling Bear, the little blue koala has decided to celebrate with the humble Aussie burger served straight off the BBQ. At first glance you might think what’s the big deal, looks like a normal burger to me? Look a little closer however, and you soon discover a fried egg and slices of beetroot (yes, beetroot!) This little Australia Day beauty is great with a capital G.
And, even when Australia Day has been and gone, it’s not forgotten – because you’ve got the egg yolk and beetroot juice stains on your t-shirt to remind you! Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!
You can read more about Australia Day at it’s official web site here.
Have a great G’day!
